What About Socialization? ~Part 1

Girl#1 Fitting In

Good grief! Will we never stop hearing the tired old challenge: “What about socialization?”

Some people are so concerned that your home-taught children won’t fit in. Fit in with what? With contemporary American society? With a national divorce rate that’s among the very highest in the world? With the world’s highest teen suicide rate? With a generation of young people who, for the most part can’t carry on a conversation with an adult? With a peer group who care about little more than the latest movie or video game?
The difference between leaders and followers is simply this: followers fit in and leaders stand out. This is the choice you have. Train up children who fit in or children who stand out.
What about socialization, indeed.
