Snow Cream
from Homemade with love, a treasured Family Recipe by Marilyn Boyer

Every good snowstorm we have, (which isn’t too common here in Virginia!), we reserve a nice patch of snow with the promise of this treat in mind. Rick made up this recipe when our oldest boys were little, and everyone looks forward to it when he makes it for us.

  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs.
  • 3 qt. clean snow

Combine sugar, vanilla, milk, and eggs in saucepan. Boil until sugar is dissolved (about 5 minutes). Cool completely; set pan outside in snow to chill. When cold, combine syrup and snow, and mix thoroughly. Serve immediately.
