How can we raise unselfish kids in today’s world? How can we teach them to be sensitive to the needs of others rather than just seeking to please themselves?
Society is constantly sending the message that life is all about them. But the truth is, we are here on this earth to serve our Savior, not just to entertain ourselves.
This is why my daughter Kelley and I wrote Character in Action. We want to help give kids a vision that God has mighty purposes for their lives; they don’t have to wait until they are adults to get busy about it. In this book, “the cousins” are involved in ministering to people God has brought into their lives.
The younger kids are when you begin involving them in ministry projects, the greater impact it will have on their lives as they grow older. When kids are trained to be alert to other’s needs, it gets their focus off of themselves and on to serving God through serving those around them.
It was my intention in writing Character in Action, not only to help give my own grandkids a passion to serve others, but to inspire your children to be alert to other’s needs and available to help carry out God’s work here on earth.
So come join us as we seek to pour into the lives of others. We’d love to hear of some of the “missions” God takes your family on as you seek to serve Him.

Curious to know if you have a book 4 in the works….ages 13 and up?
We do have character-based books for the older kids. Portraits of Integrity and Profiles of Valor both include approx 45 stories each that are true stories from history where kids can see character in action in the lives of real people- very compelling stories. Some in Portraits of Integrity are actually about World War II vets we interviewed and met. Incredible stories, although there are some throughout all periods of history. Profiles of Valor contains stories from lives of people during our War of Independence/founding era. We also have For You They Signed which is for high school age which is also character based and tells what the signers sacrificed for our freedom and also what they believed about Jesus Christ, using their own words in many cases. Anyway, I think you find all three of those to be very appropriate for your 13-17 yr olds. Here are links to the products. We have see inside images so you can take a look and see what you’d be getting. Hope this helps.
Blessings,
Marilyn
