Apple Crisp

We’ve had a great crop of apples from our apple trees this year, so it’s been nice to have extra apples readily available to do all sorts of cooking and baking!

Usually Rick loves and prefers anything chocolate, but this is one exception! Apple crisp has been a favorite now for many years. He loves to eat it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

So, since it is apple season, what better better time than now to share this delicious, homemade recipe with you…..

  • 4 cups sliced apples (approx 4-5 large apples)
  • 1/ 1/3 c. Brown sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2/3 c. butter, softened

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 8 x 8″ pan.

Place apple slices in saucepan on stove with a little water in the bottom and cook till they just begin to get tender.

Place apples in 8 x 8″ pan.

Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly. I use a whisk to add the butter. Sprinkle over the apples.

Bake 30 min. till topping is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream.

Serves approximately 6 people
